Well gents, it was certainly a VERY exciting first week! Despite rickidiculous fantasy scores being put up by the top QBs and all the hullaballoo about this now being a "2 QB league" the early results suggest otherwise. Two of the top three teams had a 2nd QB in the flex spot that netted 8 or less points for their franchise. At the same time, there were over 25 players on waivers that got that many points or more - most of which were WRs and TEs (Nate Burleson anyone?)! And despite the record breaking performances by Brady, Brees, and Rodgers, none of the teams that started those guys were able to put a stranglehold on anyone. After just one week, it is STILL anyone's game! =)
On to the power rankings!
That's it for week 1! Let's see how it all plays out next week. Remember, there are now quarterly prizes to be had!
Oh, and by the way, these are the lamest team avatars we've ever had. Y'all need to update your team avatar if you haven't already...
Commish
Let's see... I have two of the best QBs in the league and I'm in 2nd place despite my RBs not even starting yet, and I get a 6th place rank? WTF? You just made Brady VERY angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.
ReplyDeleteOh, I agree that your RB and WR points will come up a bit...but I suspect your weekly QB and TE points won't be this high again all year. Keep in mind you are essentially tied with 3 other GMs for 2nd place and there are 3 MORE GMs right there tied for 6th place. Everyone else performed as expected - but your QBs blew expectations out of the water. Of course, if your players keep it up, I'll have no choice but to raise the Brady Bunch up the ranks...
ReplyDeleteCam Newton broke an NFL record!! 422yds in game one?!? it's never been done before, nobody else would've started him week 1, nobody else even drafted him!!
ReplyDeleteIt's extra fantastic that he's rejuvenated Steve Smith along the way...just as I had planned!
Anywho...not knowing who to start because all your players are productive is a nice problem to have. Lesson learned, Newton starts from here on in...
be afraid!
cj2k is getting injured this year.
ReplyDeletetoo many carries over the last few seasons for such a small back. no off season workouts, lengthy holdout. no top line QB to scare defenses.
he's gonna down.
